Notes

Water Safe Citrus is a Run / Walk, benefiting Cayla's Coats, that Starts/Finishes at the Citrus High School Stadium and runs through the streets of Inverness, FL. There are 3 distances to choose from (10K, 5K, & 1 Mile) so this is a family friendly event that is open to all ages.

Cayla’s Coats is a volunteer only organization, which allows all of our donations to directly impact the members of our community. Cayla’s Coats was started in memory of Cayla Barnes who tragically lost her life at the age of 20 months due to a drowning. It has become Cayla’s Coats mission to provide water safety education, swim lesson scholarships, life jackets, and coats to children and adults within Citrus County. Drowning doesn't discriminate and can happen to anyone in the blink of an eye. Our goal is to be Water Safe Citrus and have not one more drowning.

We will be using this event as our main fundraiser to help fund our distribution of Life Jackets, coats, educational materials, and our life jacket loaner stations that we have a vision of having placed throughout the county.
